ES El artista que mira su ombligo
El artista que mira su ombligo se convierte en espectador de sí mismo. Cada gesto, cada obra, cada pensamiento gira alrededor de un centro invisible: su propio deseo de existir, de ser visto, de ser recordado. El mundo externo se diluye frente al espejo de su ego, y la creación corre el riesgo de convertirse en un reflejo de vanidad más que en un acto de comunión.
Pero mirar el ombligo no siempre es frivolidad. Es también introspección, examen del yo, diagnóstico de lo que duele, de lo que falta, de lo que arde. La línea es tenue: entre la honestidad y la autoabsorción, entre el examen profundo y la autocomplacencia, se define el arte que trasciende y el arte que se repite a sí mismo.
Este diálogo cuestiona al artista, pero también al público: ¿miramos la obra o al creador que se contempla en ella? ¿Es arte compartir un mundo o es simplemente mostrar un yo? En el egocentrismo del artista late, al mismo tiempo, la posibilidad de reconocimiento y la advertencia de la vanidad.

The artist who stares at his bellybutton becomes a spectator of himself. Every gesture, every work, every thought revolves around an invisible center: his own desire to exist, to be seen, to be remembered. The external world fades before the mirror of his ego, and creation risks becoming a reflection of vanity rather than an act of communion.
But staring at the bellybutton is not always frivolous. It is also introspection, a probe into the self, a diagnosis of what hurts, what is missing, what burns. The line is thin: between honesty and self-absorption, between deep examination and self-indulgence, lies the distinction between art that transcends and art that repeats itself.
This dialogue questions the artist, but also the audience: do we look at the work, or at the creator staring back at us through it? Is art about sharing a world, or simply showing a self? In the artist’s egocentrism beats, simultaneously, the possibility of recognition and the warning of vanity.
