Return to multiverso

“Return to Multiverso” is a new version of Multiverso, an earlier action by the artist Marta Pinilla. In Multiverso, the performers had just passed through a black hole and found themselves in a parallel universe. In this universe, they had lost part of their humanity, in the sense that they had lost some of what makes us human and possessed that characteristic quality of the uncanny, which provokes attraction and repulsion at the same time. These new beings (or “creatures”) became observers of reality, while at the same time they themselves were the object of investigation.

They attempted to communicate and relate to the humans they encountered along the way, and they possessed their own language based on the sounds produced by their suits. In later actions by the artist, this original idea has gradually been diluted as the creatures have become more human. Now it is easy to see them typing on typewriters, connecting to the web, or riding bicycles.
